Nursing Home Manager About the role Whites Search Partners are supporting our client in the appointment of an experienced Nursing Home Manager for a small nursing home in Durham. This is a fantastic opportunity for a nurse-qualified leader to manage day-to-day operations, ensuring high-quality, person-centred care for older residents, including those living with dementia. Key responsibilities - Leadership and Management**: - Provide effective leadership and day-to-day management of the nursing home. - Promote a positive, person-centred culture. - Lead, support, and develop the staff team to maintain high care standards. - Ensure compliance with organisational policies and communicate effectively with residents, relatives, and external partners. - Clinical Governance and Quality**: - Deliver strong clinical oversight and ensure safe, effective nursing care. - Maintain high standards in care planning, risk assessment, and clinical documentation. - Promote continuous improvement and ensure compliance with CQC requirements. - People Management**: - Lead recruitment, induction, supervision, and performance management. - Foster a positive working environment to support staff retention and development. - Financial and Commercial Management**: - Manage the nursing home’s budget and contribute to financial performance. - Identify opportunities for improvement and sustainable growth. - Resident and Family Engagement**: - Build strong relationships with residents and their families, promoting dignity and respect in care. What we are looking for Essential Criteria - Active NMC registration and nurse qualification (RGN, RMN, or RNLD). - Previous experience managing or supporting a nursing home or elderly care setting. - Strong knowledge of elderly and dementia care as well as CQC requirements. Desirable Criteria - Experience as a Registered Manager or Home Manager with good CQC outcomes. - Leadership or management qualification in health and social care. What we offer - Salary: £60,000 per annum. - Bonus opportunity and excellent benefits including 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays. - Free parking and sick pay. - Support from regional management and leaders, with the opportunity to lead a well-established nursing home. Location and working pattern - This role is based in Durham and requires in-person work at the home, with flexibility to meet operational needs.
